Sidle support

Get unstuck without starting over.

The free loop starts locally without an account. The v1.3 candidate adds local Pro tools and an optional device-scoped provider connection. Production provider AI is enabled for eligible connected adults who accept the current disclosure.

Can I use Sidle without paying or signing in?

Yes. Pick a companion style, enter a task, and tap Start together. In the v1.3 candidate the timer starts locally and immediately. Silent body-doubling sessions, optional Live Activity, and on-device Moments do not require a Sidle account or provider connection.

Local Pro adds a “For next time” Return Bridge, an in-app hello, optional on-device voice, and an optional background notification. The Return Bridge is saved only on this phone and is not sent to Sidle's server or DeepSeek.

Provider-backed AI is separate and for adults 18 or older. It can connect only after explicit adult confirmation and acceptance of the current DeepSeek/China and sensitive-data disclosure. The production provider path passed its live release checks on 14 July 2026 and is enabled, subject to availability and the stated limits.

How does the provider note work without an account?

The v1.3 candidate creates a separate anonymous provider profile for each connected device. Fresh connection requires verified Apple purchase proof and Apple App Attest. A rotating opaque Keychain credential renews 30-minute KMS-signed access for that device profile.

When provider AI is connected and currently consented, one eligible session can replace the prior brief provider note. Sidle does not build a note history. This is separate from the local Return Bridge. Neither the provider note, Return Bridge, nor local Moments syncs to another device.

Legacy HMAC access-token verification and random v1.2 registration stop at 2026-08-15 00:00:00 UTC. An eligible legacy profile can be adopted only from verified Apple transaction proof plus its existing customer identity pointer, not from a purchase binding alone.

How do I buy, restore, cancel, or manage Pro?

Buy

Open Sidle Settings and choose Get Sidle Pro. Apple shows the controlling local price, period, renewal terms, taxes, and any trial eligibility before confirmation.

Restore

Tap Restore purchases on the paywall. Sidle asks Apple to refresh the current entitlement and never receives your card details. Buying or restoring can reconcile an already-connected identity but cannot create a new provider profile. Only an explicit provider Connect or Reconnect after adult confirmation and current AI consent can create a blank profile.

Cancel or manage

On iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sidle. Cancelling stops a future renewal; access normally continues through the date Apple shows.

Provider AI service limits

Per UTC calendar month, metered DeepSeek processing is limited to US$2.12 for Monthly, US$1.24 for Annual, US$0.90 for Lifetime, and US$1.00 for an eligible trial. These are service limits—not money, account credit, or a session count—and no plan promises unlimited AI. Limits reset at 00:00 UTC on the first day of the month. Provider availability or the service-wide ceiling can pause AI sooner; local Pro continues.

What does “Delete this device's Sid memory” remove?

It tombstones and removes this device's anonymous provider profile, latest provider note, raw session rows, device-owned legacy cost rows, and active credential material, then clears local Keychain credentials. Other devices have separate profiles and are not deleted. Your Apple purchase also remains.

A minimal content-free tombstone remains for up to 48 hours. A separate content-free deletion/PITR ledger remains for 40 days so any offline database restore can be scrubbed before it serves traffic. Permanent content-free opaque identity and one-way device revocation fences remain solely to stop deleted credentials or a deterministic registration request from working again. Provider-side DeepSeek copies or caches are outside the endpoint.

Local Moments and the Return Bridge remain on this phone. Removing Sidle's local app data removes them. Restore Purchases keeps local Pro but does not recreate the deleted provider profile; reconnecting later creates a blank profile and does not recover the deleted note.

What happens with crisis or dangerous task text?

A deterministic crisis-language check runs before DeepSeek use or provider-session storage and returns a static regional care card. A separate dangerous-task check returns a static refusal for violence, weapons, intrusion, and other dangerous wrongdoing. Matched text is not sent to DeepSeek or stored as a provider session.

Sid is an AI body-doubling companion, not emergency support or a professional service. If there may be immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified person.

Why did Sid go quiet?

Provider AI is enabled, but a session always starts locally. A missing or old consent marker—including any request without consentVersion 2—stays silent. Network, provider, safety, allowance, or service-ceiling failures also fall back to local presence. The timer and local Pro continue.

Restore Purchases does not fix provider availability and cannot create a new provider profile. Use the explicit Connect control only if you want the optional provider path and accept the current disclosure.

Notifications and spoken check-ins

The v1.3 Pro hello appears in-app without notification permission. Voice is optional and generated on-device while Sidle is open. A separate background notification is optional and requested only after you turn it on. You can choose Soon, Steady, or Spacious timing. Sidle does not record your microphone or upload audio.

Who is Sidle for?

The local loop does not send task text to an AI provider. Provider-backed AI is only for adults aged 18 or older and requires explicit adult confirmation plus the current DeepSeek/China and sensitive-data disclosure.
